This is a poem about the days before and on Halloween, a VERY busy week in any household with children.

Countdown to the Harvest Party

Until the Harvest Party
Exactly a week
But then again
Who's counting?

6 days
Until the Harvest Party
Can't decide
Who to be
Miley Cyrus or Sarah Palin?
BatGirl or BatMan?

5 days
Until the Harvest Party
Still can't think
Of who to be
Sarah Palin or BatGirl?

4 days
Until the Harvest Party
I want to be Sarah Palin
But I don't want to abandon Puppies
She is going as Wonder Woman
She wants me to be BatGirl
But it's my last year
So I think
I should go with my gut
She has 1 more year
I don't!
What to do?
SO CONFUSED!!

Until the Harvest Party
I have decided
To be Sarah Palin
I tried on my costume
Made of stuff I already had
I even tried on a pair
Of my mom's old shoes
I looked so cool!
So much like Sarah

Until the Harvest Party
I'm SO excited!
I can't wait!
To see all my friends!

Until the Harvest Party
Spent the night
Makin' a costume
For my webbie husky
Her name is Paula
She's gonna be BatGirl
She looks SO cute!
As I go to bed
I keep sayin in my head
Can't wait 'til tomorrow!

Today
Is the Harvest Party
The day I have
Been waiting for
My last year...

...I'm back!!
It was pretty good
I had fun
And got TONS of candy!
And I saw Puppies
YAHOO!
This year
Was really memorable
Can't wait
Until next year
When I can serve
It will be fun
But I will miss
The days
Of getting candy
Playing games
And seeing familiar faces
But it will be fun
I am prepared
To grow up
Cuz I need to sometime!
